Are you looking for a great place to kick back and have some great food? There are a lot of great places in the South but we also have plenty of buffets. I was craving for crabs and I was wondering on where I get an unlimited supply of crabs for my tummy? We found this great place by SM South Mall in Las Pinas. It seemed like it just recently opened and I was greeted by the staff.
ABOUT SOUTHSIDE GRILL
Originally, the plan was to set up a homie, simple, lutong-bahay carinderia with a twist. They offer occasional UNLI CRABS with your favorite flavors of steamed, garlic, pepper and sweet chili inspired by Singapore. It’s not your typical restaurant-bar, hang out place where CRABS meet affordability, with all-time Filipino favorite dishes, chill ambiance whether for the family or friends.
AMBIANCE
Nothing so fancy, the place is simple with an air-conditioned area and non-aircon outside. If there is a band setup, the room can accommodate 25-30 persons. There are a few seats outside for smokers. They also have a parking area that is probably good for 4 cars.
FOOD
We started with the Street wise platter. It includes 3 pork bbq, 3 chicken isaw & 2 grilled hotdogs and it is great to be served with alcoholic drinks.
Next is Kani Dynamite Cheesticks. It’s was not as spicy as what I expected, but would still be great for those craving.
They also served Pork sisig which is known as one of the best pulutan yet this one is served with a lot of veggies.
Next is Buttered chicken. As a fan of Buttered Chicken, I can say that this is really yummy and worth the price.
We also had a grilled salmon. It’s tasted fresh and served with some lemon cuts.
If veggies are your thing just like me, try their grilled talong and okra topped bagoong and kangkong. Every ingredient tasted fresh and each had various textures, which made it more enjoyable to eat.
Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to taste this Buttered Garlic Shrimp so I don’t have any idea how it tastes but I guess it good just like other dishes that have been served.
A trip at Southside Grill is not complete without tasting their Heart Attack Crab and Singaporean Chili Crab. The crabs they served are huge and tastes really good. I was really eager to this especially the Heart Attack dish since it sounds like it can literally give you a heart attack. My nursing mode went on so I decided to try the Heart Attack first.
Sadly, I wasn’t able to taste the Singaporean Chili Crab because they consume it fast but according to them it also has a great taste especially if you prefer a mildly spicy or sweet sauce.
If you want to spice up your meals with that extra kick, then you must check out their Sex on the Beach, a ladies drink and considered to be their best-seller. I love drinking a cocktail and this one honestly give me a slight buzz.
On the other note, Black Russia is great for those who love to drink coffee since this alcoholic drink has a great coffee liquor taste.
Lastly, we tried their new item named Bucheron which is also a nice thing to be in your pulutan.
This place also offers unlimited crabs promo (Php 550/person) during Friday and Saturday only. It’s best to make a reservation if you’re planning for the unli crabs options so they can prepare enough crabs for their customers.
