There are many Mexican restaurants in Manila and most of them are good places to eat and drink. And so, in our search for great Mexican food, we found Flying House.

AMBIANCE
Flying House interior design is very modern yet laid-back Mexican theme with a design of brick walls and posh couches to match up the modernity of the resto-bar. It offers good ambiance, comfortability and a perfect place for dinner or late night cocktails with friends.

Our shared favorite is Flying House’s Nachos, a perfect to pair with Mojito. It comes with a generous serving of flavorful chunks of beef and cheese. It’s supposed to be an appetizer or snack, but large enough to be a meal in itself.

A must-try is the Flying House Tacos which are Signature Black Tortilla filled with beef and topped with cheese and salsa verde. We were given 3 Tacos and you can choose from pork, beef, and/or chicken. It can be mild or spicy.

For the drinks, we tried Michelada. It is a regular cocktail composed of traditional drink made with beer, tomato juice, lim and tabasco. Well, I considered this cocktail as one of my favorites since it tastes really great for me. In fact, I can’t even remember how many glasses I drank. Lmao!

SECRET MENU
Anyway, can you keep a secret? We can’t. Flying House Restaurant has a secret item and we will spill it right now! It is their Secret Pancit Canton! When you look at the photo below it seems like its the usual pancit canton we usually cook. Well, it’s not. This isn’t the typical instant pancit canton. The taste goes beyond the taste buds. This is definitely Flying House’s best which is not on the FH menu.

Another favorite from the secret menu is the Pizza Sisig. The combination of these two made it taste really good and it’s perfect for you to eat especially if you are really hungry! (Like us, all the time.)

You can have these Secret cuisines upon order request. So don’t be shy to mention it to their staff and you’ll be in for a glorious treat! and if ever they ask you how did you found about it. Just simply mention my blog!
We were also fortunate to interview MMA/Fitness trainer George Castro to a food tasting at the Flying House where his home cooked Mexican food inspired by his mom is being served. According to him, his mom is currently in Arizona. At times he gets homesick, he cooks his mom recipe so he can feel like he was right back home in Arizona. George Castro is a proud Mexican-American born and raised in Tucson, Arizona. He made a few of his favorite Mexican dishes at the Flying House restaurant which was owned by his friend. He made us three of his favorite Mexican dishes which is the Nachos and Tacos.

All in all, Flying House offers delicious Mexican food, within reasonable rates. We went home with happy tummies and a little bit of leftover. It’s no wonder people always line up to get seated inside this local resto-bar.
