Outreach Program

Medical mission is one of my favorite things as a Nurse. We visited remote places to conduct health education, check the health status of the community and have fun. Aside from that, we also learned to immerse ourself in the culture and learned how to live a simple life through the help of the local people.

We reach out the Aeta community in a remote place in Porac, Pampanga. It’s my first time to visit this place and I noticed that they don’t have much access when it comes to technology and electricity.

Seeing them living with the most basic things in life yet greatful is the most heart melting message that this community is trying to let us know .

One of the main things I’ve learned from this trips is that patients are the same no matter the location.  They typically have the same conditions, the same concerns, and the same fears when it comes to health.  Whenever I’m able to see patients in a different setting, it helps to remind me that we are so lucky to have the resources we can access in the states.
