The Wholesome Table: An Organic Restaurant

Have you ever experience eating mouthwatering, luscious, sinful dishes without feeling guilty? Nowadays, most of the people are getting conscious about the food they ingest.

Well, you don’t need to worry anymore because THE WHOLESOME TABLE, an all-organic restaurant offers only fresh and organic ingredients free of any synthetic preservatives, artificial sweeteners, additives, colors, and artificial flavors. Each dish was scrupulously made from scratch and sourced their organic needs from various regions in the country. I guarantee you’ll not find any trace of anything processed, preserved or canned here; not a single thing is frozen or pre-packed is used in their dishes.

Before putting up this organic restaurant a few yrs ago, Bianca Elizalde the owner of The Wholesome table had only one thing on her mind which is to introduce Filipino palate to healthy yet delicious cuisine in order to become more enticing.

This organic restaurant features various selections of food in their purest form. In fact, most of their dishes are so IG-worthy that one may forget that they prepare the food for you to consume. It has an earthy and refreshing vibe that is perfect if you want to dine, relax or have some intimate moment with your loved one.

It’s very woodsy with various plants and ornaments, wooden furniture with a shade of brown all over the place.

Together with my Explore Philippines Family, we’re here to share with you about this organic restaurant.

Here, they offer the same type of comfort food most of us are used to eating, but they make them with healthier ingredients.

Each dishes serve in The Wholesome Table are made from fresh and healthy ingredients.
Pro tip: you can always ask them to serve vegan, gluten-free, or nut-free versions of these dishes.

We started our banquet with the Vietnamese Spring Rolls. A fresh appetizer with ingredients mostly raw, crisp and fresh, what differentiates this from the typical spring roll are the mangoes and avocado that add sweetness and creaminess that gives this a new flavor. It’s also served with chili Vietnamese dipping sauce.

If salads are your thing, try their  Chakra Salad! Here, you’ll get a huge serving of duck egg, mushrooms, beets and almonds drizzled with a homemade hibiscus kombucha dressing. Every ingredient tasted really fresh and each had various textures, which made it more enjoyable to eat.

CHAKRA SALAD

A trip at The Wholesome Table is not complete without tasting their Yogi Bowl, an Indian-inspired vegan dish made with cauliflower, turmeric powder, coriander, cumin, olive oil, onions, garlic, three kinds of mushrooms, organic tofu, cherry tomatoes, red chili, coconut cream, and leeks.

Another outstanding dish from The Wholesome Table is the Lasagna. It is one of our favorites among the other lunch dishes that we have tried. The dish comes off as extremely fresh, with grass-fed beef, bechamel and mozzarella all layered with lasagna noodles. The bechamel sauce is just right, it complements the entire pasta dish flawlessly. In fact, it was listed as the number one lasagna in the metro.

Aside from the Salad we also savor Bicol Express. It has a distinct taste coming from fresh langka, Sigarilyas, Green papaya, Coconut cream, Malunggay, Bagnet, Organic Fish Sauce & bagoong.

BICOL EXPRESS

Want to spike up your meals with that extra kick? That’s great because The Wholesome table just launched a new cocktail, “Wholesome Sangria Mocktail” which gives an invigorating tang with Kombucha in the mix. It is made with premium quality and locally-sourced Lambanog. So if you’re a health junkie that also likes to have a bit of fun, this cocktail is definitely for you!

Although I’ve been to a few restaurants offering healthier food options, I think the purest and most nutritious still goes to The Wholesome Table.

Overall, The Wholesome Table did give us a healthy treat with their delectable dishes during our visit. The price points here are definitely on the high side, but it is worth every penny due to the organic and healthy ingredients incorporated in it.

We may not have chosen vegetarianism and vegan eating as a lifestyle, but we really appreciate and respect the owner of the restaurant’s intentions and efforts to source ingredients locally.
