Whenever my friends or relatives from abroad traveling to Metro Manila for the first time ask for lodging recommendations, Makati is always on top of my list. It’s close to NAIA airport and is not too far from Manila’s historical core. The streets are lined with various dining selections from fancy resto to weekend markets. It’s a great shopping destination, too. And best of all, lots of lodging options, from hostels to luxury hotels.
If hostels are not for you and upscale suites are beyond what you can afford, then maybe a budget hotel like RedDoorz is what you need. They provide a budget-friendly yet comfortable staycation over the Philippines
Located in 5700 Pagulayan, Poblacion Makati, 1210 Metro Manila, RedDoorz Nano Suites is near from various establishments in Makati. If you are a food adventurer like us, this hotel is just walking distance from interesting local restaurants and cafes. It’s also quite near from malls such as A Venue and Century City mall. If you are into nightlife, it’s is also near to various bars and bistros.
Arrival
I arrived later than the normal 2 PM check-in time since we just came back from our travel in Camarines Norte. Upon arrival at the hotel, we were able to immediately check-in and get our keycard. They also required me to provide a P1,500 (fully refundable) security deposit for incidental fees. After that, we parked in Century Mall since there’s no parking lot in the hotel even though it stated in the app that there’s parking.
Being a budget-friendly hotel, I should say that I did not expect Red Doorz’ customer service. To my surprise, the staff are very welcoming and accommodating. When we entered the lobby, Nano Suite’s pleasing receptionists greeted and immediately accommodated us. There was even a staff who helped us carry our backpacks to our room.
TWIN BEDROOM
The room is pretty decent compared to other hostels since it feels like you’re in a classy hotel with all the amenities given to you
They have a small ref but sad news guys – it’s empty. Another thing, there’s a water kettle in my room, but I was surprised they don’t even have a coffee and tea making available.
Departure
Just like the check-in process, the checkout process was also swift. I was able to get my security deposit while they’re checking my room as a prerequisite for checking out.
Final Verdict
If you’re looking a for a great and affordable place just to get a quick shut-eye while you’re in Manila, this is the place to be. Staying here does not include free breakfast but it’s fine since there are a lot of restaurants and bars nearby the hotel.
